KAIYA CIHO
Kaiya believes learning should be a participatory process. She uses encouragement and confidence-building to help students get to the point where they understand enough that the process becomes fun. She does not simply explain everything and hope a student will remember it all; instead, she gets the student to talk through what he or she knows and then fills in the gaps until the student can teach it back to her. Kaiya’s long-term goal is a career in education policy and, to that end, plans to pursue degrees in teaching and law.
